I just found out about this website and all I can say is, damn! I had no idea what a crazy company this is.
Any other new people from the Facebook Bookseller page?
We've been telling everyone about this website.
I agree at the very least locations should be acceptable. I guess they don't want names because of the probability of slander.
You can tell the truth, but if you tell the truth too much (as I have in my exposed posts), the mods will delete them, unfortunately. I still think BN locations and individuals should be called out publicly.
Hi, it’s great that you’ve started this thread. I used to work at store 2597 in Paramus, NJ. I received a call from the S.M. that I was no longer an employee, effective Sept 4. Now, my only connection to the truth of what’s really going on is via a coworker—also layed off— who continues to secretly chat with a few friendly coworkers that are still employed. They can be counted on to tell it like it really is, & according to them it’s not looking good. Also, as I learned in another thread, BN is doing away with what was typically a very profitable & popular part of the store—The Sale Annex, which sold a vast amount of used books & always exceeded sales goals. A poor decision in my opinion.
I was never on the Facebook group, but I’ll visit this page to, hopefully, get some facts about things that corporate doesn’t want us to know.
Best of luck to all of You in getting back on your feet & finding new jobs.
The good thing about this place, it's totally anonymous, and you don't have to be afraid to TELL THE TRUTH. Let management spy, what are they going to do?
Lots of spies on the Facebook Bookseller Group. Pretending to be booksellers. From what I’m reading there’s some here too.
Things are bad and us real booksellers, in the stores,we know it.
