As of yesterday we have a sign at the time clocks and health desk about attendance returning on October 1. Is anyone else seeing it in their stores? I think this is great news.

Walmart is too strict with their attendance and ridiculous schedules. Attendance policy or not we are always short handed because they won’t give enough staffing anywhere. At my store they give c-appy irregular schedules sometimes with 8 days in a row then only 1 off. I understand that some people just don’t want to work but others are exhausted from the workload and schedules. Plus the so called great workplace which has reduced staffing even more and demoted some management. I’m very upset with Walmart and the way they have handled this situation. They have also tried to hide associate Covid cases from the co-workers claiming that we have nothing to worry about if we wore our masks and followed social distancing. If I had other options i would quit
I only feel bad for the 5% That work their butts off and the people that are afraid that they are going to infect and older person!
What exactly is a “Caller Inner”? And there are some people that get sent home ,so you shouldn’t judge!
Believe it or not we had more call ins today on the start of the point system than we have had all week.
Walmart would treat their people decent they wouldn't have to call in sick. And now they do the attendance when there's a pandemic. There's always going to be some of the abuse something in life . I've work there and they abused us all through my 10 years there and I took it now it's their turn. Maybe if they had something nice to say to their employees they wouldn't have this problem. Management s—s they have their favorites
EXCUSES, WHINING AND BULLC-ap!
Grow up! If you don’t like the way things are run “QUIT” you know it as well as others it makes it harder for other workers when associates take advantage of the co vid policy. Come in when you feel like it, no call no show, or every excuse in the book but The COVID-19. Time to act responsible, if you want a paycheck you will earn your money, not handed to you, if all you will think about is gossiping bad things about Walmart, welcome to reality not every place will be Cinderella’s castle. Find somewhere else to work, I’m sure the other 40 million unemployed people would love to fill your spot, don’t like the attendance policy, GET OVER IT or QUIT!
October 1 is correct
People abused it like crazy at my store. If people weren’t a–holes maybe they would have extended it during cold and flu season coming up. But now with cold and flu season coming up people will be forced to come in sick. Bad apples ruin it for everyone.
It is on the front page of the wire. Sooo glad!!
I think it's great—and long over due. This relaxed policy is everywhere now, including my company, and we're dealing with the same call off b.s.
Like the above person said, this can't be a crutch forever.
Many many associates take advantage and call in 2-3-4 times a week while the associates who come to work day after day are left with double the work. Its about time the attendance is turned back on and people are held accountable! Stop using COVID as a crutch, get your rear to work and start acting like a responsible adult. What really s—s is everyone gets the same amount of the COVID bonus no matter how many hours you work. Full time $300 and Part time $150 It should have been based on your hours worked to be fair. For those who show up to work everyday and don't call in, there should be some sort of incentive for showing up and doing 2 peoples jobs. Just saying! For those who keep calling in, its time for the system to start tracking absences and those who consistently call in are held accountable. For those of us who keep coming to work and putting ourselves and our families at risk while doing the work of 2 people, we should have some sort of appreciation for coming to work everyday and NOT calling in. About time the attendance is turned back on. I couldn't be more thrilled! Now just hold those chronic caller inners accountable because the morale of everyone who doesn't call in is suffering.
I understand people need to go back to work but if a second wave happens like projected and they refuse to go back to waiving points they will need to keep paying incentives no matter what and will need to bring the waiving system back
Absolutely. Constant abuse by employees taking days off two and three times a week – and not one thing can be said to them. And, those left behind are responsible for their workloads. Everyone appears to get the same Covid bonuses – no matter how much time you have missed – morale is at an all time low – and everyone surviving this storm is just very tired and beat up.
It is on the wire
As a former employee / supervisor, I applaud this. Can’t use Corona as your crutch forever. Way too many associates took advantage of a loophole. I respect that associates are concerned over the virus, however the ones that are calling off because they “can” is what effects the ones that show up to work everyday.
