Different levels of management are meeting. Are they ranking their employees this week? Most valuable to least valuable? Most expensive? Most expendable? Biggest pain in the arse?

If you're H1B and you've had time to have kids (plural) born in the US that you didn't want to take home, then you should have been in application for your citizenship. Did you really think Cisco was responsible for paying for your H1B for 18+years for your kids to grow up here?
H1B, I was H1B at some point.
It is a game that you know that the rules change in the middle of the game.
But I am sure you came into it with your eyes open and took the gamble.
Layoff decisions should be independent of visa status.
If you are a competent and hardworking person, you will land on your feet somewhere.
How can h1b folks be LR'ed? they wont be able to find another role at Cisco or some other company. They have to leave US and go back to their home country. Not fair at all. I have mortgage, car loan and 2 kids in school born here in US.
List is there and some of the folks on H1B visa have been informed to start looking. I came to know, as folks absent in meetings & work is not getting delivered and their manager kind of hinted me.
Management knew of the Feb LR last Nov. So anyone who is on the next list has been on there for some time.
have to assume they are meeting to discuss substantial layoffs they hadnt expected due to low voluntary retirement
@ozv+16SsnpXH Hi Paul P :)
Believe me, everyone has already been stack ranked.
If you account for the 2,100 that took the ER and then adjust for a lower LR payout, there's going to be about another 3,900 let go or put on LOA for a year without pay.
I am the most expensive and the biggest pain in the azz in my team. Can't be touched even though I have been her 21+ years and over 50, white straight male. Not a director or above. Not offered ER cuz they know I would take it and then come back after a year. Same issue happened in 2011.
"Different levels of management are meeting" Sold the stock right there at that line.
