I remember reading someone said we got a letter from Omaha regarding of no less than 100 locomotives to work on at our shop in North Platte. So something might be going on since we slowed down. Or maybe its just a transition for work to be going to Jenks shop to help them out. Has anyone heard anything on any layoffs coming to North Platte lately our union guy tells us we are okay with no layoffs here at our shop.

Strange, no locomotive overhauls, mods or repairs. Just components. It doesn’t look good. If they can go to next year to call back more as local chairman said, I think it’s just stalling while they get the work done somewhere else. I’ll ride it out. I can always look for other work later. But it doesn’t look good in my opinion.

The guy that keeps saying North Platte is so busy is delusional. 99% of the locomotives here are in storage. Tonight theres many guys standing around with nothing to do. If you're in the bottom 25%, it would be a great time to start looking for a job.

Management will always take care of themselves period! With that said they need so many because they can't run a shop efficiently just look at the ramp. That director is clueless. He couldn't even run a McDonald's right.

So does this mean they will layoff 70 in North platte since they are calling back in Jenks. I see it on written on the wall now by sept. 21st they want east hump shut down in NP and by sept. 28 they calling those 70. All makes sense so you bottom NP guys better start looking for new jobs. Who else agrees am i right.

Hey bragging North Platte dlpshit, GET OVER YOURSELF. It's people like you that the railroad doesn't need. Stop being a dlck towards the people that had to struggle through this. Also just a thought, but try writing sentences that has the illusion of actually passing through grade school. It looks bad if the folks of North Platte can't talk any better than that.

Please let us knw when all this nightmare is done, ima be worried on paying off all my toys. Thank you NP for the OT n the locomotives we rebuild.

Opening up with about half the furloughed people the 28th, components (some) and limited overhauls. Three managers let go but half the people. Also say goodbye to morning breaks.

Where did this information about Jenks come from? There has been nothing official put out yet. No one from management has advised the unions and lower management.
