I remember reading someone said we got a letter from Omaha regarding of no less than 100 locomotives to work on at our shop in North Platte. So something might be going on since we slowed down. Or maybe its just a transition for work to be going to Jenks shop to help them out. Has anyone heard anything on any layoffs coming to North Platte lately our union guy tells us we are okay with no layoffs here at our shop.
Strange, no locomotive overhauls, mods or repairs. Just components. It doesn’t look good. If they can go to next year to call back more as local chairman said, I think it’s just stalling while they get the work done somewhere else. I’ll ride it out. I can always look for other work later. But it doesn’t look good in my opinion.
The guy that keeps saying North Platte is so busy is delusional. 99% of the locomotives here are in storage. Tonight theres many guys standing around with nothing to do. If you're in the bottom 25%, it would be a great time to start looking for a job.
Management will always take care of themselves period! With that said they need so many because they can't run a shop efficiently just look at the ramp. That director is clueless. He couldn't even run a McDonald's right.
Official from IBEW 39 electrians ,so a different craft gets an extra body probably IAM
So does this mean they will layoff 70 in North platte since they are calling back in Jenks. I see it on written on the wall now by sept. 21st they want east hump shut down in NP and by sept. 28 they calling those 70. All makes sense so you bottom NP guys better start looking for new jobs. Who else agrees am i right.
Electricians are always favored in NLR numbers don't lie.
Heard vaguely the same numbers
2 carmen
2 sheet metal
0 mso (5 already)
2 Boilermaker
24 machinest
40 electricians
Hey bragging North Platte dlpshit, GET OVER YOURSELF. It's people like you that the railroad doesn't need. Stop being a dlck towards the people that had to struggle through this. Also just a thought, but try writing sentences that has the illusion of actually passing through grade school. It looks bad if the folks of North Platte can't talk any better than that.
Cant believe as you guys decided how many guys actually get called back finally after of all summer worrying if shop even opening up, we in North Platte are more worried of how many more us machinist are accepting overtime. So bring it on i bet you that your shop will not open up till at least 2021 so good luck. Is in NP we are the main shop actually runnin the railroad. Please let us knw when all this nightmare is done, ima be worried on paying off all my toys. Thank you NP for the OT n the locomotives we rebuild.
70 total to work trucks and Components.
70 people for the entire yard or 70 people per craft?
The email read 70 in total for all crafts will start on September 28.
So who has been called back? Anyone gotten a phone call?
Jenks it's coming back on the 28th..
Baby steps
Baby steps.
No word from IBEW on electricians going back. So it’s time for them to move on.
Being short is a sign of breeding with farm animals.
North Platte won't be cut because we are already short😂🤣😃
North Platte wont cut we are already short actually might even call back if work keep rolling in here an staying very busy. We are in a very good spot in area n system that North Platte is needed.
Cutting North Platte to reopen Jenks, this is c-ap
Believe it when you see it.
Morning breaks have geen gone for some time now. Knowbody knows what's going on. Upper management has this tight lipped
Opening up with about half the furloughed people the 28th, components (some) and limited overhauls. Three managers let go but half the people. Also say goodbye to morning breaks.
Where did this information about Jenks come from? There has been nothing official put out yet. No one from management has advised the unions and lower management.
Ohhh I can’t wait! Let’s show north platte how it’s done boys and girls !
What date is the opening?
Now will see if they will even out workforce and layoff in North Platte. Hopefully thy will call everyone back.
