Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Cloud Security/Cisco Umbrella affected?

If it is, how likely is it for a security engineer to be laid off?

"Cloud" was a key area back in 2016, but then Cisco went and LR'd most of the Cloud strategy team, SW/test teams, and spun their wheels for a year before buying another Cloud company to try and reboot their strategy (which didn't work....should have stayed the course with the original team and plan).
Don't think any area is safe.

* there are a lot of issue facing cloud security as the model is not the future *

putting on-premise security functions in the cloud is not how cloud security works.

No one is "safe". But I would think that since Cloud Security (specifically SASE/SIG) are key sales targets for the Security group in FY21, I would assume the chances are low compared to some other areas.
