Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

The leadership keeps doing this the wrong way

Layoffs are necessary sometimes, I get that. But with that in mind, the fact who you lay off becomes the most important factor in how the company will continue to function in the future. And Cisco leadership continues to miss that point.

Instead of making sure to keep the best and most experienced employees, every single time we watch as how much a person earns is used as the only factor to determine who leaves and who stays. And then everybody is shocked when our products continue to underperform...

Cisco would save so much money if they'd get rid of the overpriced California offices and relocate staff to cheaper cost of living cities. Staff could easily do the exact same jobs for a third of the cost in other states. California's a money pit for business. There's no fiscally responsible reason to headquarter a business there.

The priority is to eliminate jobs in America and sell buildings. Performance is inconsequential.

How many buildings are left in San Jose/Milipitas?

If an ER package was offered every 3-5 years then they wouldn't need to do layoffs all the time.

I don't understand what Inclusion they are striving for, but most development teams are 80% Indians. Just look under org charts of Ravi C–a....
For H1B visas, if you look on the Bulletin whenever a job is offered to a foreigner, they're required to post, the salary shown is fairly high. If a company is cutting costs, why not cut these expenses?

As for Cisco getting taken over by Indians, How do we know with all their last names that they are not related? We don't and Cisco upper management are drinking their cool-aid, and allowing them to screw up company culture with so much BS and disrespects.

Priorities are completely off right now. D!versity and inclus!on is the most important topic to the company leadership, instead of investing in ways to actually improve the company's future and outlook.

110% agree on this one, should be based on performance and ranking. Never a good idea to lose your best people just because they get older. Some of our BEST people are the most experienced ones. You don't get that being fresh and cheap out of college.
