Is it true these points being waived are going to come back when the attendance system gets turned back on next year from calling out during the pandemic?

October 1st points are BACK
Points or no points it doesn't matter in our store. Walmart can't afford to fire anyone because we pay the lowest wage in our town. Fast food, grocery, gas stations and other retail all start at at least $12 per hour with some paying $15. Many of them give merit base raises not the "community" raise (everyone gets the same no matter how good of an employee you are) raise Walmart gives. All these stores also give between 35-40 hours guranteed.
Walmart pays $10 to start with no guranteed hours. So no one wants to work for less money doing more work with no raises based on your work.
Oct. 1st points start for callouts
No, they're waived, they can't just magically appear later on. There are some that abuse it, sure, but there are some that are out for covid, or for legit concerns about it...can't really tell who's who there, so better safe than sorry is what Walmart is thinking, which is smart.
2 ASMs have said the points will show up eventually. I hope it's true. I'm sick of those that are taking advantage of it. Calling in 3 to 4 days a week. Su*ks for the rest of us having to pick up the slack.
Layoffs are coming – this has already happened at HO. If you are abusing the system (and I don't mean just a few times – I mean two and three times a week), most likely your name will be on the short list when the time comes.
If you think you have problems at Walmart, you should go to the Barnes & Noble and read the scandals going on there. It's better than a reality show!
