Started working for Basspro 3 weeks ago and I think I’ve made a huge mistake. What is going on with this company? Everything seems outdated and run as cheaply as possible. Most of the employees who aren’t full time are worthless. We are missing so many key positions and I have way more responsibility than I was led to believe. I feel like I’m working for a rundown novelty Walmart. This doesn’t feel like the basspro I’ve seen in commercials. Has it always been like this?

Run and don't look back. I have been with this company 14 Yeats and I liked it until they fired my boss and sent in a d–k head to be our manager. And everything is going down hill. This guy is changing people that have been in there dept. 14 years full time. No one like this man an he needs to go back to where he came from
Sounds like the Cabela employee is talking about the Triadelphia store. That place is ate up. A total soup sandwich.
Just since the buyout of Cabelas! Greed has caused a shift in belief of people first. Now it’s just Politics and Credit Cards!!
Curious which store you are at. No, it used to be a fantastic company to work for. It got bad enough to finally drive me out and used to tell people in interviews that if I was lucky I'd get to retire from there.
When I started at Cabelas a couple of months ago I, noticed that there main problem is poor management skills. I come from a large volume store with more managerial skills than the present management. Salary managers never stay on the floor conversing with outfitters or customers , 90% of their time is spent in there office. They leave around 4 pm everyday they don’t even work 40 hours a wk...They don’t like to hold lazy workers accountable and push more work on the good workers. Cabelas need to re evaluate there present managers and replace them with people that know how to run a business and take care of outfitters and customers. If this doesn’t happen soon we are in a course for failure.Mr. Morris should react now. Not wait til it’s to late...
Basspro terminated some pretty important positions right before Covid and never seemed to really adjust during the outbreak. It’s just kind of been a mess ever since.
Bottom post is cranky. Company is very outdated and having a difficult time keeping up. I would suspect there’s no real leadership up top and that’s why moral has been in the gutter since Covid. Company can’t seem to get itself together.
Is anything the way it looks in commercials? If that is your litmus test then you have some learning to do.
