Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Checking IN on Everyone @ Corp

Hope everyone is trying their very best to stay positive during a difficult time.

I can only speak for myself and some of my colleagues I am close with, but the feeling of overwhelmed/stressed/anxious/ and disappointment is probably very high especially after the 2nd restructure this year, pandemic, and unpredictable sales, not to also remind you all of the lack of leadership.

I know of many colleagues trying very hard to jump ship, regardless if they're an assistant, associate, or even director level with or without job lined up, because that too is very difficult to find in these pressing times.

As much as I can honestly say, I really dislike my current role, there's no sense of passion, or waking up saying I really enjoy my job, other than the fact I have no obvious choice and it's easy to complain about it but also having a poor excuse for leadership as a people leader, regardless, I'm trying to hang on tight.

Sales will continue to be very volatile, I'm very curious to see what will be said during the next wall street update, hopefully it won't be too many lies.

Hang in there team, as it's going to be a bumpy ride (Q3/Q4).

  1. S. I hope you guys really enjoy these comments/updates

Hmmm... I’m too young to retire, too old to reinvent myself... I’m staying until they Let me go, orrr close my store, which is eminent. The only thing that’s thriving is the incredible, unbelievable over the top shoplifting!

Hey ... the original poster is sympathetic with all others in the boat she/he's in. There are several factors they can't just pack up and go. No need to call them names, they may have families, children, dependent parents, etc. They want to continue working, not collect unemployment, be productive members of the society and pay taxes. I'm actually proud of those who stick around, we all know it seems hopeless, but kudos to those who are riding the waves. Peace and be safe.

Much needed! It has been really stressful. Get anxiety everytime I go in. You are right! No communication at all from leaders ,there is nothing to look forward to .. each day is a struggle and you are right everyone is thinking of jumping ship including me .
