So many incredibly talented, hard working people were let go in the last week. Even more took the severance package and left. Wonder why? Because they are smart enough to see a sinking ship and the security of ANY job with BBB is pretty much zero now. It's a cash grab by the company and nothing else. They DO NOT care about a single employee in the company. This means you, if you're still there. I saw too much talent/dedication be tossed away, and that kind of talent cannot be replaced by the type of individuals who the company will now seek to replace them. If you're still there, and you're the SM, prepare to have to come down from your office chair and pick up the duties and responsibilities of the people that were let go. IF, you even know how to perform those duties. Welcome to the new Blood Bath and Beyond.

Honestly it doesn’t matter. All of us that were let go just have to find a new path. I didn’t always agree with my managers but respected them all. I wished all of them the best and I need to move on, as hard as it will be.

Regarding the COVID comment. Yes, stop worrying about that so much also. Based on current numbers you have about a 99.9% chance of surviving it. 181,000 is a huge number but out of 328 million people in the United States the odds look very good you’ll get through it. Before I get ripped on this, I get it if it’s you or someone you’re close with it’s a MAJOR deal. I’m just stating the facts

I so much wish that I could say who my store manager is. She deserves a lot. If she got paid a million a year it would be ok. She gets out there n works every day. And last week was so hard on her. She didn’t say anything but it showed. I have had many sm’s in my time but she is the best. So not all are bad.....seen my share of those for sure.
Just like people should shut up and ignore over 181000 dead from COVID, eh?

As a SM I bust my a$$ as well and am very hands on. Believe me last week was very hard on us as well......saying goobye to very hard working coworkers and friends.
Maybe some people should stop complaining about the type of job everyone in a higher position does and focus on their own performance so they can get promoted. Everyone in a management position (ASM, SM, DM, etc) has a boss that is paid to follow up on what they do. Stick to doing your job well and stop worrying about people you’re not being paid to manage.
Glad that you had a store manager that actually worked. I've worked for 15 different store managers in my career at BBB and only 3 actually got out there and worked. I feel bad for the people that are left. Good Luck.
What big corporation cares about their employees? For the most part none. Not trying to sound too harsh but that's the way it is. Do you think Target or Home Depot would do anything different?
