Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

ASM being let go tomorrow, 20+ people know but not him

ASM in our store is being let go tomorrow. SUPER NICE person, great to work with, great with customers and CSA's. I'm guessing he took care of us and our dept but didn't 'manage up' as well as sometimes Corp Mgmt bs requires. What's really sad is that it is common knowledge in our store today, BUT apparently will be news to him tomorrow. AND the extra Covid 'time away' won't be paid to him, but he will get his regular untaken PTO paid out.

Apparently an issue came up during Corp Sr Mgmt 'Coming into town during Covid Dog and Pony Show'. There is a Global Pandemic, what the heck is Corp mgmt doing flying in planes, and coming into our local stores (and they don't social distance and wear masks properly).
All Global companies know how to operate virtually even before Covid, stop traveling bring germies to our store, just have someone facetime you and walk around with IPAD. You can see what you need to.
AND our store numbers & Dept are FANTASTIC, Truly sad that you got rid of our nicest ASM.

Corporate does not care about or even reads the answers to the survey. They only care about participation so they can claim that so many(%) of employees are “engaged” in the company. Your voice is louder if you DON’T participate.

OP here, every employee I’ve talked to is super upset at the SM for firing the best ASM in the store. Now tone deaf SM sends email reminding us to fill out Associate Survey. Oh yeah I’ll be filling it out. I just hope there is room for comments.

What’s the breach, the local store Sr Mgmt not able to keep a secret? CSA just heard a rumor, no breach reaching out to victim to see if true. It’s just sad most people in the store working that day knew before ASM victim did.

I’d be tempted to call him, tell him to find a way to not come in tomorrow and find a way to get his extra Covid time away. Maybe be just calls in sick for 4-5 weeks.

Corp mgmt s—s, we are making so much money and ASM’s had so much bs to deal with since Covid began, making them go through that and then stab them in the back is Horrible, but tells you ALOT about much the company cares about even the ASM’s (we already knew they didn’t care about the lowly CSA’s that actually work with the customers that generate the revenue).
