Since D-day in April, I managed to land a position at a competor of Pembina and now lead a team. It's night and day with a more established, and progressive work culture. Superior compensation package also helps. Opportunity is out there and life is better after Pembina. Just wanted to say do not give up and keep to the chip on your shoulder and go get it. I'd also like to add that any resumes with Pembina that I receive (individuals who were laid off after April 22) will be promptly deleted and or recycled. I urge everyone who was laid off in April and who is now - or will be in a position to hire, to boycott hiring current Pembina staff. I am spreading the message. Hope you will too. Superior talent is out there.

Careful people... "Mick's Angels" - the ten or so phony HR and corporate women who all s— up to their dear corporate master, drink at Micks house on the river, befriend his family members.. are likely reading this page and on a mission to identify and out people for brownie points.
Congratulations on the new position. I also found employment outside of our former industry in August and couldn't be happier. You are quite correct in stating that "life goes on after Pembina". It is absolutely true. I urge people working at our former company to wake up and stop drinking the spiked corporate Pembina punch. You are not slaves to them. Anecdotal, but when my LinkedIn profile was updated with the new employment status, within a week I was solicited by several current Pembina employees who would put their notice in tomorrow to join our firm. Taking a current temperature of Pembina in it's current state it does not appear to be a positive one. One question I would ask of any former Pembina staff in a hiring process is: "What do you think of Mick Dilger"? - if they gave an honest answer, I would consider them. If they gushed about Mick about after interacting in some social setting or riding the elevator with him, I would exercise caution (most staff). Go buy several drinks for his C-suite or top tier Pembina buddies. Most of them absolutely hate his guts for how he interacts with peiople. Narcissist, sociopath, A–hole are all routinely thrown around. Good CEO but absolutely awful human being.
Stereotype, stereotype. Take a breath and be reminded that you were hired by competitor because it respects the work done by Pembina. I'm not saying Pembina is a great company to work for. But in this case not everyone working there should be barred from opportunities at the company you now work for.
You should be higher than this. Otherwise I will be worried to work for a manager like you.
I also did not like working with so many "off brand" racist people based in Grande Prairie. Pembina tolerates it.
Great news and send us some good thoughts and energy. Now in my mid 50's and unemployed, I envy gentlemen and gentlewoman a few years older than myself who can enter the retirement phase and not deal with the current reality and employment environment. People, cherish your job if you have one and fight for it and the younger generation who are without work this is heart breaking. I have noticed since April that no one cares about Pembina, its heritage, or projects. I have given 18 years of my career to this company and feel like a fool boasting about the firm. Someone told me Pembina people are toxic goods and they avoid them. It is clear that outside of investment circles, the prestige and reputation of the company were nothing but an internal circle jerk (to quote my son). The reality is no one cares about Pembina. If you are seeking employment and can gloss over anything at Pembina, do so. Or collect your pay cheques and hope you perish in a car crash to your BC cabin.
