I learned that at least in New York State, B&N had to hire back or terminate furlough employees within 6 months of furloughing us. If they didn’t they would have had to file with the government and given employees advance notice of termination. This apparently is why they couldn’t keep us furloughed longer than early Sept. they will have to pray their reduced staff doesn’t jump ship.
