Good I hope they all leave. If everyone that bi* and complained about how sh–ty NS is left, it would do nothing but make my gravy job even better!!!
The fun part is when you work second shift with Tuesday Wednesday off for 20 years and then you get laid off.
Didn't take me 20 years to get 1st shift with weekends off.
The railroad doesn’t pay you for your ability, they pay you to show show up and for the inconvenience of your first 20 years. Most people aren’t going to work 2nd shift with Tuesday/Wednesday off for 20 years. That’s how they keep people around.
- 00 dollars an hour? I could get a job as a night watchman for more than that and have zero responsibilities and pressure.
You should Know C and S is mechanical now too.
F— working for this company
Lol. $25K a year is around $12/hr. I’m not saying most laborers work their tails off, but have some common sense. There’s plenty of jobs out their that pay over $12/hr. Who’d want to put up with all the RR bs, bad off days, working holidays, no time for family etc. if you could get a job making more with weekends off..... You act like RR jobs are something people love to do likes it’s teaching or coaching little league where people are okay not making good money for the good of the kids. I guess in your world, people will be lining up to get inadequate pay and they’ll be fine with it since it’s for the good of the shareholders.
If one trade is over paid on the railroad it the laborers,In all honesty they should be at 25 to 27 thousand a year ,max, lets not even talk about the over paid management team, thats really criminal
Honestly...most mechanical employees lack the skills and experience to hold a plant maintenance job.
NS pay will continue to stagnate due to zero bargaining leverage and extremely weak unions with no solidarity. NS weakened its unions by hiring just enough dumb people. Honestly. There are always just enough dumb people who say “I can’t stand up to the company. I need this job. I’m dumb and have no job skills and this is the only decent job I can get.” That’s what k–led the unions and all the solidarity that it took to get the decent wage and conditions to work in to start with. PSR wouldn’t happen with a real union.
We should be making 40 an hour. Sounds like UPS is more up to date with compensation. Common people , its 2020 not 2010.
