Thread regarding Husky Energy Inc. layoffs

I'm a single working mother with two young children. This is a global pandemic and as a parent and human, it is my right to make medical decisions for me and my two children. However, by forcing everyone to come to the office full time in the middle of a pandemic, I was forced to decide between providing for my children and protecting our health. I was forced to put my children in daycare and school. They have since been sick twice and we've had to get tested for covid both times. Our competitors with similar size downtown offices are not in the office full time. They are protecting their employees' health and that of their families by forming cohorts and working alternate schedules. CNRL is the only one with everyone back, but they work in individual offices and not an open concept space. Of course I am grateful to have a job to feed my family, but this is unnecessary risk. Just because some people don't have a job, doesn't mean that I have to be okay with whatever my leadership does to me.

It’s a real shame to read about employees whining about having to go back to work in the office. Many unemployed oil and gas professionals would be extremely happy to have your job. Be thankful for what you have.

More and more COOP student positions are posted on website. And it is for a good reason.
You train young people and then you will be gone. You are too expensive to be around.

Wow, perhaps you should look for work elsewhere if you plan to intentionally slow down your work. For the record most companies are getting people back to work. The smaller companies have been back for months. You want to stay home forever? Go ahead, plenty of people who would love your job.

If you are livid with senior leadership, then we don't mind you finding somewhere else to work.

What did he say about the rebounding and importance of the Alberta oil and gas industry on the rest of Canada?

Do you think TROC (the rest of Canada) will realise that a strong Alberta means a strong Canada. Without us Ontario would not do well. Without us Quebec wouldn’t get their endless transfer payments.

Employees: if you try to sabotage operations and intentionally reduce our operational results, expect to be let go ! Your on thin ice as it is.

The federal government will have to support our industry more as it is the lifeline for the rest of the country. Most of the time it is Alberta that supports the rest of the country with transfer payments including the lefties in Ontario and the separatists in Quebec. Now is the time that the rest of Canada helps us.
