Remember that they will always need to find ways to cut money. This is what, the 10th lay-off in 3 years? How many people need to lose their job for this company to be profitable? There may come a time when they can’t afford a severance.
They offered it because they think they can function with out you. They are so wrong! The set up is not modern day retail. You are better off focusing on taking the pay and finding a new job and finding something Great. Plenty of companies are hiring. TJ Maxx (and their several banners), Target, Walmart, Burlington, Cosco, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Aldis, Amazon, Best Buy, so many grocery stores! You need to think about stability. You will be more stable mentally, emotionally and financially by leaving bed bath rather than stay. I left and I have a great job, I make WAY more than I used to, and my bosses care about me. There are options. You just need to find them.
