3rd Shift here. “Stretched Thin”
Is a nice way to put it. More like pushing associates to the limit of endurance and past that night after night. Stocking 4 large pallets of liquids in dairy and being told “it HAS to be done and binned by 2am” is the norm. Then on to GM where it all HAS to be done by 5am. Then group zoning with the shift supervisor walking up and down the aisle behind everyone like a chain gang guard and berating everyone for going too slow and expecting associates to stay after their shift ends to finish the zone. After 5 months I have a hernia and, like most others on my shift, barely limp out of there in the morning - only come back that evening to be told our efforts the previous night fell well short of mgmt expectations. Happens night after night. Never any let up.
My store got rid of 3rd shift last year
3rd shift here. We've been understaffed for a while, but none of us care. We do as little as possible - mostly play with our phones. Nice "me" time.
