Belk Stores Are in Disarray

Belk stores are in such a disarray! Walk into our Belk store and you will see customers wondering around lost because they can't find a place to check out. Very few registers are open, The majority of the limited staff are frantically shopping for online STH orders that they cannot find because the store is such a mess. Racks and tables are messy, clothes are laying on the floor, and returns and put backs sit untouched on z racks. Online pickup orders are difficult for associate shoppers to find as well, with much of the new merchandise they need sitting on the dock unboxed or still on a truck because there is no staff to process it. On weekends there will be long lines and angry customers with still very little staff. Associates appear unhappy and frustrated, and customers are wandering why they still shop at Belk anymore to begin with. "Is Belk going out of business?", customers ask "and you need some more help!" they exclaim. And associates have to shrug it off, head down, beaten, and continue on. And day by day, week by week, it gets worse. And worse.

Other retailers are increasing staff and inventory, Macy’s, Khols, Dillard’s, but not Belk, nothing has improved since reopening in May, in fact most stores have had hours cut and things are getting worse not better.

Belk stores are operating day by day, don’t be surprised if you show up to work and the store is closed for business with a sign saying “this location has ceased operations”, this happened to my daughter when she worked for The Limited, which coincidentally is a label sold at Belk.
