Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Working @ Ricoh is like being in a abusive relationship

Overworked and Overstressed. They continue to dump the workload on you even though they are short staffed and say its your fault it didn't get done. Its becoming very abusive and mentally exhausting.

"It's when Ikon started running the show. They micro manage and was never like that."

My husband was Harris/3M, then Lanier, then Ricoh and when Ikon was bought out, Ricoh let disgruntled Ikon managers run the sh– show. What a mess! So glad he is out of that toxic filled environment.

Hard to imagine it being worse at xerox vs here. Understand a young person being desperate for $ and some experience. But I’d be extremely wary of having either of these on my resume and being type casted for future roles. Tech Power Houses? Maybe last century.

With the way these companies operate and abuse the tenured people, how do they expect to survive? Do they really think that young people coming on board are not going to talk to the older ones and quickly find out how bad it was for them and then question if staying is the right thing? But then, why do I even care. It’s not like they cared about us.

@1fbx+16D50Vp4 - That's true. I agree. Understand how you feel... Ikon purchase was a 1.6 billion dollar Canon (-/+pun?) ball to the haul of ricoh boat.

What has ricoh taken over???
No doubt about the toxicity and the emotional toll everywhere in this hole but do these posts seem a bit... formulaic? "I agree." - "Understand how you feel." - "That's true." — Posts sound like stressed out robots from a perceived future from the 1960's. "beet-bop-boot-bot...work load surpassing dynamic threshold capacities... xl9000 overload support units scheduled to go off line at 2100 hours and I have not had firmware update in 21.00297 lunar orbits..." — Posts all posted at roughly the same time. Shenanigans? Orchestrated effort? Same person? What up?

I agree. I had become so depressed that I wondered how I’d make it some days. Since Ricoh had taken over, it had become an extremely abusive place to work. No matter what you do, everything was always your fault. I used to be proud to work there but anymore I’m actually embarrassed to say I did. If you’re younger and work there, you really need to consider getting out.

Understand how you feel. Many of my peers have been dealing with stress headaches and panaic attacks.

I agree. People leave or take off or are quarantined due to coronavirus and it is still expected to get the same amount of work done in 8 hours. Impossible on some days. Work just backs up and takes longer to get done. It's so stressful right now. Too add to it, it's hard to take a vacation right now due to skeleton crews at work. Going to get worse once the early retirements begin.
