I worked there for 9 years and go out of my way to another store to help set up a renovation and then get a lay off immediately after. I do all this work and get no show for it. Literally no care about hard work and keep the low payed employees. You get what you pay for

I was worked as a customer service trainer but I did everything besides having keys to the store.

This is why we need to normalize people quitting on the spot without notice. If you live in an at-will state, you have all the right to quit on the spot. They lay people off all time time abruptly without notice every single day, yet they make you feel bad or they make it seem taboo for workers to do the same.
Is quitting on the spot bad work ethic? Hell nah. Don't let them fool you into thinking you don't have rights. Screw them over just as they screw their employees over from time to time.
I know this won't go over well..but I am so over people saying " I've worked my butt off" " I worked so hard" etc. IT IS A JOB! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK! Or the part timers do not do their share. Some people work part to eventually go full time but many work PT because they want to! You may think you are the hardest worker in the world but that is what you are supposed to do
I too got laid off today. I can’t say I didn’t see it coming but didn’t know it would mean my throat would get cut. I worked my a– off and get told your position is no longer needed. Can’t say BBB actually cared about their employees but I loved the people I saw everyday who made it fun. I am at a loss on how do I pick up the pieces and move on but I know there are better opportunities ahead. Good luck to everyone they laid off today, I wish you all nothing but the best!

So Tritton is racking up his cash, along with the shareholders, and you blame minimum wage part timers? You're a clown. I got the boot today too, but unlike you people, I have the brains to realize this company only has one objective: hoard as much cash as possible for the shareholders and highest level managers, then tank it. They do not care. Part timers now have to take on our responsibilities, with no more pay, and no room for advancement. I feel terrible for them.
Stop blaming them. You're a tool if you do.
You people need to stop blaming part timers. They already were being screwed over and taken advantage of, not knowing how many hours they get a week, not getting benefits. Stop being angry at people who have less than you. Be angry at the people who did this to you. Be better.
I also just laid off this morning.. after all I’ve done. Now it’s gonna be just the less deserving part timers that get to keep their jobs.
