With the m—acre going on today corporate wide, come September BBBY will have that most needed Culture Officer on board. Obviously to tell the survivors and any potential new hires what a great company this is....or was.

Maybe that person who has "connections in accounting" can hook us up with a job. Lmao
It is not fun to be let go but this is a BUSINESS..It is a big business and most do the same. Let people go, (yes by phone too). Some do not offer any severance. If you want a family atmosphere go to a super small place..but you prob won't get any benefits. As far as working nights, weekends, holidays..that is retail. Do not look in retail for your next job. Yes it s***s but that's the way businesses work..77
All three ful timers have been kept (even the CST) but the two ASMs were demoted. Both are contemplating just running which i hope they do so this store crumbles. Im just waiting for another job to pop up. I've been applying and soon as I get one, I'm out.
I'm sorry they screwed you over. They screwed me over too. I'm gonna leave happy knowing the time is ticking for them and they'll drown sooner or later.
For those of you left, good luck! I know its gonna be hell in the next few months, and if you have the option to work somewhere else, DO IT. Because the same thing will eventually happen to you. I didnt think it would happen to me. I worked at over 10 stores in my tenure there, doing every damn job except for SM. Countless overnights, missed birthdays and holidays with my family. And this is the thanks I get. At least be the one who leaves and finds something better before you get blindsided and are kicked out in the cold.
This company is so heartless I wouldn't be surpised if they laid off more people right before the holidays. They SIMPLY. DON'T. CARE about you. So why should you care about them?
I was there 9 years / I was RTV, did BOPIS, CDS and CIP. I was also the only associate outside of front end that could do returns. I was a Bridal consultant. I did the receiving table and got more done than the regular receiving guy. Also did all the VDC 14 report and VDC report accounting for all the merchandise. I could work hard side without an issue and got by in soft side.
Yeah once a company stops caring about in-store knowledge and expertise, when that was their whole shtick for so long, you know its a dumpster fire. It was aaaalllll about customer service. And then it became aaaalllll about operations and "let the customers help themselves". Training and onboarding is non existent. New employees forced to learn on their own, making the worst impressions for customers. Because how is a new employee gonna care, if from the get-go you show them that you don't care enough to train them properly or give them enough time to learn what they need to do?
Yup, the customers will "help themselves " alright. They will help themselves out the door with CARTS full of unpaid merchandise and no one to stop them, or even care to stop them.
Was let go as soon as I got to work today. I was a CST, my position was gutted over the past year so I figured it would be gone soon. I didn’t realize they would remove me completely. I was going to be at seven years with the company next month. I’m sure they’re happy to be saving money, hope they enjoy an army of part-timers who can’t help customers and don’t know our products.
The fn irony.....
🤣🤣🤣
