Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Max pay for a Dept Supervisor?

I am/was a ASM. Told this morning I will be a 45 hr/week Dept Supervisor.

Pay no communicated yet, but to it will be the Max of the Dept Sup position PLUS 15%.

Any idea what the Dept Sup max is?

F— BED BATH AND BEYOND.

I wasn’t given an option. I was called on my day off and told over the phone which I thought was BS but I knew it wasn’t my SM fault. I started a T-shirt company during my furlough so I’ll be trying to grow that so I can buy bed bath and beyond and fire everyone at the top via email lol

I'm expecting a call tomorrow from HR to talk about pay vs. severance and all that. My SM told me today that max for a dept. Sup. in my district is $20.15 so plus the 15% would make it $23.57 and hour. She chose her words carefully and said it's "up to max, which is $20.15 + 15%". So I'm interpreting that as some of us may get low ball offers.

Word on the street is severance is one week pay for every year you've been with the company. So, imo, if you've been with the company for 8 years+ (and can take the risk of finding a new job in today's climate) it would be smartest to take the severance and get out while you can.

It wasn't too long ago when department managers were told that we were restructuring but they were safe in the new positions until one day they were all laid off, no notice.

If you can afford to run, now is the time, my friends. Best of luck to everyone. This is a difficult time, but you're not in it alone.

It wasnt

It is strictly a market based pay cap. There is no company standard. If min wage is 7.25 In your area, it’s on the lower end of 20.

I actually have a screenshot of what Max Pay for dept sup is and it’s $20.50. Plus 15% takes you to $23.57/hr
