Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

18 FT Leads/Specialists gone

Our store was a fulfillment store during the pandemic. 14 of us excluding asms worked during this time. All of us were full time associates with some sort of key position with the store. Today, all of us were let go.
The store is running on bare bones, the 14 of us knew how to do everything and anything. We now have nobody in the HBC, softside and receiving department.

Store is gonna go to hell and we're the 3rd largest in the company. They really shot themselves in the foot. Doubt the store will be open for any longer.

Shocked thats was 53 will be running on. But like someone else said, full time at 53 puts a target on your back. Store is massive. Part of my old stores district also. District has taken so many rough hits within the past week.

Actually sounds EXACTLY like 53 and therefore I am VERY wary of coming off furlough and need to think about this. AS soon as that many receiving people are chucked, it says something.

Sadly you all know now why I didn't want to go full time at 53. It puts a target on your back.

Best of luck to you all: it was good working with MOST of you. I see closure imminent.

What they're getting ready to do is consolidate teams and inventory as they get ready to close more stores. They're trying to churn gold out of butter. They are squeezing every last bit of this old, nasty, crusty toothpaste and pretty soon, there will be no toothpaste left.

Bye bye, BBBY
