Uhhhh, I saw a new Jake commercial last night. The customer was so happy about his savings, he made Jake a wood carving. Of Jake.

No they ruined the originality of the first commercial which was awesome and funny just to make people laugh once in a while. But to redo it with a different Jake is ridiculous

commercials are Insulting to women and every race and minorities intelligence.

Industry wide but SF marketing and targeted messages are not thought through.

No more than the old "Jake" commercials. I'm smelling a little hate here.

Sick elitist mentality that brings a once very educated and professional company to its knees by creating this deranged advertising.

I just don’t get the Bachelorette show/relationship advice theme that a couple of the commercials have with Jake. Wtf? Seems creepy.

If I was a minority. Which I am. I would be offended by the diversity propaganda and campaigns and image and commercials. Creepy symbolism and target marketing is getting old. People should be smarter and more critical than that.

They resonate with the State Farm advertising executives and that's all that matters.

It's a race to the bottom of the barrel for most insurance companies goofy ads these days. Aimed at double digits IQ's, it seems.

No. Old and stale. But in true SF fashion, if it worked for a tiny bit of time, they will hang on to it for at least another decade.

No and where is the mask in the pizza delivery commercial? Target is doing it... once again not relating to reality! Too much money is being wasted on the Jake commercials!

@xfb I'm in total agreement. So ignorant of State Farm.

@cpp you are absolutely correct. but the employee base at state farm doesn’t reflect it. and that is why you have leadership that thinks you can relate to the millennials if you just throw a black person in the commercials. but when you have departments that are 100% white with leadership that refuses to hire people of color, the problem goes much deeper and isn’t something that can easily be changed by just hiring a black guy to be the face of diversity and inclusion.

The new Jake is designed to appeal to the millennials and younger. They already got the Boomers locked up, but their numbers are decreasing. Marketing based on demographics. Let’s face it, the population is more diverse by the day.

It was ridiculous to create a new Jake. If they wanted to throw in diversity, then they should have created a new character entirely. But I would never expect SF to do anything smart so I wasn’t surprised.

no they do not. not at all. but it’s no surprise considering the leadership team who thought it would be a good idea to replace the white jake with a black jake to get more black customers is entirely comprised of white people. and the departments those white leaders preside over are 98% white.

so of course the commercials aren’t going to resonate since they are written by white people for white people with a token thrown in there to check the box for diversity.
