Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Any truth to this?

I’m hearing the elimination of flooring, plumbing, millwork, appliance as home decor specialists. Pros go any and pro desk specialists and cabinets remain for now with no decrease, just title change. The phaseout will be gradual and employees have until sometime in January to find a new position.

Is this true or is somebody trolling?

It's true, getting rid of more full time high pay positions to bring in more part time positions for less money.

Some one spreads that rumor on this site every 60 days or so.

Everyone making more than $15 per hour is gone with few exceptions. The labor market is going to be in the employers favor for at least the next few months that's why the change is coming now.

Corporate has learned they do not schedule lay-off calls in advance. Be wary of the call from your ASM the night before to come in early on the 11th. That is what the game plan truely is. Wait and see. P–pToadt would be proud of me!

I was shown the plan today, not getting rid of specialist, I can hit my numbers, but the big number will only be good if you work with competent people. I do not.

All you have to do is look at the Orange Box to see where you are going and what will happen @Lowes. It might be weeks, months or years. There will be little or nothing new and original so please just go to work, do your job and get the stock price up, whatever it takes.

So where's the proof of this at? Until then its like any other rumor on this site that does not come true.

The bonus structure is team based not individual based. Again specalist are not going away they are coming out with a new bonus program startin 8-1

it seems unlikely that they would have a nation wide mandatory meeting to discuss a program a week and a half after it starts. WE have a few specialists at this store that are scheduled between 2&3 that day even though they are off that day and one is actually on vacation. This is a relatively minor thing to bring people in from vacation days but with this company anything is possible

So now quotes that are built by one specialist in the am will have that work given to the specialist who closes it out the next day.
Thats what happened 13 years ago when there were sales bonuses. Ugly fights everywhere

That new bonus program was started way before the pandemic! Being up 30 percent,if you're going to restructure the operating costs...... what better time! Just saying....

It's true. Based on the 45% allowed full-time staffing per store that's just one way to get to that number and cut costs too. It's the price for making more than $12 an HR in retail.

This would make no sense at all. Imagine random part timers thats only been there a week ordering 20k worth of windows and doors for customers just to mess it up, if they can even figure out how to order. Considering there is no training what so ever. None of the specialist are gonna stick around and go to part time.
