Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Masks: Make a decision,Marvin

You cant have it both ways. You cant be open for business, and ignore public health mandates. You cannot expect and require us to put ourselves in danger ever minute because you are too chicken sh– to enforce something designed to save all of our lives. Post someone with crowd control experience in the stores to ensure that customers AND employees wear masks the entire time they are in the store. I am sick of being startled by unmasked customers mid-sneeze, too many unmasked (or “half-masked”) employees constantly getting too close to me because “I don’t have ‘rona, dude. Relax!”

This is not what I signed up for, and yet ironically the virus has me trapped in this job. The LEAST this company could do is enforce its own rules. I am a living being, not a piece of disposable medical equipment. My customers deserve better. My family deserves better. I deserve better. Have some goddamn respect and grow a pair, Marvin. We’re dying out here, whether you report it or not. This thing isnt over, its just getting started. F— your layoffs and whatever else you have planned. Figure this sh– out NOW.

I work in a state that has made it clear that it's the businesses' responsibility to enforce the mandatory wearing of masks. In that regard, my state regulations supersede Lowe's bs arguments. I'm enforcing the policy in my store (i.e asking customers to cover up). Last week I refused to assist a customer and I pointed out to him that he wasn't wearing a mask. I just walked away and left him cursing. I wish the manager could write me up for this; I would crumple the paper and tell him to shove it up where the sun don't shine! I'd probably be making more on unemployment than I'm making at Lowe's, lol.

As an American, you have the right to not were a mask

But just like you Businesses have the right to not let you in, Not serve you.

You can’t have it both ways...You are free to make a choice, but that means accepting the consequences for your actions....

Screaming at employees and businesses for protecting thier employees and customers does not make you a patriot...it makes you an ah.

Don’t mistake I convince for oppression.

Masks. When I wear a mask in public, or decline an invitation to a party or to come inside:
🔵 I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus.
🔵 No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus; I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
🔵 I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me;” I feel like I’m being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same.
🔵 The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort.
🔵 If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place.
🔵 Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid, or even “controlled.” It makes me considerate.
🔵 When you think about how you look, how uncomfortable it is, or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you - a child, a father, a mother, grandparent, aunt, or uncle - choking on a respirator , alone without you or any family member allowed at bedside.
🔵 Ask yourself if you could have s—ed it up a little for them.
Copied and posted.
Can you do the same?
Wearing a mask is not political.
It’s public health!
It’s courtesy.

I see we have plenty of Liberal Ultra Left Wingnuts working for Lowe’s. Nature Over Nurture. Nature balances itself out and gets rid of the weak!

Guess your brother in law is part of the 1.6 percent of people. Oh well. Again do the math. With a 98plus percent survival rate it speaks for itself. So yes still a joke

One our associates is a former marine and a badass. He said he’d be more than happy to enforce masks and man the doors for a shift differential.

The arguement that we don’t enforce masks to protect employees from violence is stupid. We are threatened by customers all the time! We had a customer pull a gun on another customer in the parking lot because he parked too close to his truck. Our pro loaders are threatened with death on a daily basis! I don’t see Lowes doing anything to protect them!

The majority of people without masks will turn away and just b–ch but they’ll eventually give in and just shop here anyway. The 1 or 2% that gets fanatical, are mentally ill and would be triggered by absolutely anything. We definitely don’t want those a–holes in the store no matter what. This mask thing is just going to weed out the super jerks, so now‘s the time to prevent them from coming in.

And I agree with the other poster, that they should hire somebody to manage the entrances even if it’s just for a few months. Just to get the message out. They can write it off on their gigantic tax break they’re getting anyway for all of our “bonuses “and other government payoffs they’re getting because we’re sooooo essential!

To the a–holes who keep saying “its just the flu” or “ its a joke”: my brother in law is in the ICU with Covid. He’s 32, an athlete, and is fighting for his life. I DARE any of you nutsacs to go visit him in the hospital without a mask, you spineless, selfish, backward losers. Otherwise, shut the f— up and go back to you mommy’s basement. The rest of you, quit complaining, put your damn mask on. You CAN breathe, you whining babies.

I just stay at least 10 feet away from customers without masks and no I won’t help them. They are on their own. Menards seems to take better care of thier employees as they enforce the mask rule. It’s true wearing a mask won’t protect you but if those around you have a mask on they are far less likely to spew to virus particles.

To the sheeple who started this thread. Why don’t you start telling customers without a mask they have to put one on and see how that works out for you. This whole mask thing is a joke anyway. The only ones worried about a mask are SHEEP like you who are germaphobes with OCD.

Covid19 is no different than the flu virus. Not one employee has been sick with it at our store this whole time! It’s the biggest con pulled on the public in modern history. I’m sick of wearing these damn masks!!! Your rebreathing your own carbon dioxide, they’re hot, unsanitary, and they won’t prevent catching a virus anyway! This will all go away after the election in November when the Dems lose.

Lowe's does not want one video posted of a customer and employee arguing about wearing a mask. It will always be about saying the right thing but turning a blind eye when actually enforcing it in every single thing Lowe's does. (ask Weber) It is about stock price.....end of story. In their mind if they lose that one 2K customer in only half our stores, we lost almost 2 million in sales. Its better if we come to the realization they don't care about us and never will.

A customer in CA has already filed a multi million dollar lawsuit against Lowe's for not protecting them against another unmasked customer. Lowe's will spend untold sums of money either fighting and/or settling lawsuits but will not post security at the doors to enforce compliance. I concur with it's past time for corporate to "grow a pair" and actually start protecting both our employees and our compliance oriented customers. It is disgusting that they are more than happy to profit from this essential retailer madness but unwilling to make the necessary effort to force compliance.

Seriously.

Customer without mask “I spend thousands here!”
Me: “Never seen you before, and you dont qualify for a credit card. Here’s the paint sample you demanded. Have a nice pandemic!”

Do we really need their business? We cant afford to lose the $2k or less they spend each year? Knowing they will come crawling back anyway?

The 10% that dont wear masks could cause 100% of the infections and millions in disability pay, sick time, insurance and business loss from lack of employees. Are they really worth having them in the store? It doesn’t add up.

And btw, my life is priceless, Marvin.
