Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Part time employees

Many part time employees have not been called back to work but their employee discount still is in effect so are these part timers still employed with Belk even though no one has called them or sent them a final letter ?

If they don’t call you back by august it’s time to start looking for a new job

Just checked my documents from 3/28 on Workday. I’m full time, but the document actually said they couldn’t provide an end date to furlough. I assume they provided a date from corporate when documenting to DES. The end date was far out, maybe the latest our state allows?

Check your Workday, and call your store manager? I was under the assumption “furlough” is different than “permanent layoff.”

Check the specifics on your Workday account. They sent several during initial furlough. Could be different for part timers? If the August date is true, you should check Workday and download.

I believe furlough dates may have been acknowledged for an extremely long date? I thought I saw end date 12/21 in my state’s unemployment site? Hopefully the part timers will be called soon! 12/21 is far away. Would think at least during peak time instead of seasonal hires?
