Previewed the Anniversary Sale this morning; the assortment looks pretty good. Some decent shoes and several nice Patagonia jackets. Almost 800 different styles across Men’s, a respectable effort.
The website looked great on a new iPod touch, very native app-like and totally responsive UI to navigate the merch hierarchy, apply filters, etc. Lots of work has gone into this and it shows. I don’t need to install the Nordstrom app on this device, will just use the site if I feel like visiting the web store.
Do I plan to shop the Sale this year? I dunno. I can’t say I actually need any of these things. The office is still closed indefinitely and I worked mostly in a pair of comfy old gym shorts and a t-shirt this week.
The cotton is starting to break down in my old Nordstrom house brand boxer-briefs, but they will be replaced with cheap ones from Costco because who cares, why exactly? Luxe retail faces this problem now, across categories.
Good luck on the sale, and if I do visit store 1, I’ll at least enjoy lunch at the cafe.
