Is there a plan and do people know what it is?

Sorry about the complaining but there’s a big problem. No one in IT knows what is going on. The is not common communication on the IT priorities. DK and the VP seems to all have a different message. Lay-offs are being held over everyone’s head. The new changes that were made don’t seem to have fixed the issues. People are told they don’t have the right skills and there is no investment in training. I asked my manager and they asked our VP and told us there is no money for training people to skill people up. Feels like there is a lot of infighting and politics among the CIO and VPs.

DK if you read this please fix. A lot of us are miserable and don’t know what is going on. I know we have to change but a lot of us feel like we have no idea what is happening or why. CareFirst has become toxic and in some ways a culture of hostility is being made. We are tired of hearing there is no money and we can’t hire but we still use all the consultants that come in for your pet projects. We still don’t have a PMO and don’t see the woman running it doing anything to make it better. The the people I support think we are not engaged and spending enough time. There’s not enough time and we need help!

Fast forward and watch the digital guy or the pmo lady be the CIO! CIO is in trouble. God help everyone if certain people get looked at for CIO if DK goes. Run away. The logical replacement is not at CF anymore and sure good reason to not be. Enjoying all this wins? Anyone feeling like this week is going to be more of a circle?

not sure they can fix what is happening. no one is happy. not unless you are one of those people getting roles you would otherwise not be qualified for and are being placed in them because you kiss a–. some of the IT leaders like a– kissers. if you don't have talent, kiss a–, works for the execs too! how do you think all these people keep they roles? it's not because they are getting a lot of work done or as DK says they are not moving a lot of dirt. i don't see anyone in the company who really wants to hear the truth. it is obvious they truth tellers are getting smaller and smaller numbers. what does that mean? well, dont make waves, don't challenge anything, just do as you are told even though it is dumb. leadership does not want to hear anything other than their voices echo. after 10 years i am not going to stay after covid. tired of working more hours as the leaders chant it's for our members and communities....well i'm a member and in the community and i don't i dont need you working more hours for me. carefirst needs to figure this out. stop treating employees like sweatshop dogs.

Just waiting for my severance. They want the IT department to be filled with 20 year old's so they can pay them much less than people with 15, 20, 30+ years of experience. They use organizational restructure to hide age discrimination practices. The fact is 20 year old's know nothing about the business. Failure is looming in the wings for CF.

the new rumors are dk is going to get canned, the new guy from aetna will take over as cio. being friends with the ceo and all! oh yes rumor is they’ve been long time friends and even now live near each other. wtf? that new marketing officer, yep, friends with ceo too! reality will hit when we go back to the office.

If anything Covid saved CF with all the changes going on and people don’t see the real picture with them working from home. Maybe they can fix it by Jan
