My 401 hit a new milestone yesterday - $500,000. I hope everyone is taking advantage of this benefit from the the company.

To hit 500K as a store manager or higher is very possible. Any position lower than that will most likely never get close if they want to eat and keep a roof over their head right now.
In my part of the country you need closer to 1 million to retire and still be in the lower middle class (about 70K /year) including social security.
New hires need to look at 1.5 million by the time they hit 67.
Two income families should fair better. BUT, A good divorce attorney will have you living under a bridge if the spouse plays it right.
