Hopefully Macy's pay the vendors or brands at the end of year. Next year brands will start pulling out of Macy's.
Why hold millions in merch that no one really buys
Sears and JCPenney carry Levi's too and look what happen, both retailers file for bankruptcy. Sooner or later Levi's will pull out of Macy's. Department stores are dying and this Pandemic is changing the timeline faster. Other name brands will follow Levi's too.
Levi's isn't going anywhere eyeroll.
They're editing down in some of the small doors, but the bigger stores should see no difference.
Levi's is just having the same problems all of retail is. Because of the pandemic, production is delayed (and just like the rest of retail, they had lay-offs).
That explains why I was able to get a pair of Levis, Celebrity Pink jeans and a charter club linen shirt for 5.00 each. Sad

What brands are being cut from Macy’s beside Levi’s ?
We just marked to penny a ton of Levi's.
Could be anyone of the following or a combination:
1) Levi’s decided to go their own way and concentrate on their own retail stores
2) Macy’s can’t pay them or Levi’s thinks they won’t be paid
3) Rumors of the J.C. Pennys bankruptcy not going well could trigger a Macy’s co tenet clauses if Penny’s liquidates and Levi’s doesn’t want their products being on sale prices.
Levi’s is having issues. Could be where before pandemic credit could be granted, maybe not under current circumstances? Probably vulnerability on behalf of both parties involved resulted in decision. The current and tentative situation presents difficult decisions for both. If only in a few stores now, just means “baby steps” to recovery for both. It’s going to be a long year!, and then some for most.
Alot of name brands will start leaving department stores within year or two. This Pandemic has change the landscape in retail.
The levis shortage is soooo high in most stores. Its a huge liability for the company but it also does a ton of business. I know our Levis handler job went away. Customers will not be happy with a Levis edit at all.
It means they cannot afford the merchandise or the suppliers do not believe they will be paid.
Levi’s is having issued as well.
Macy’s is deleting brands from the stores. For example we will cut Levi’s out of almost all locations. Many more brands are being removed as well. No petites or plus sizes in most locations and so on. Not a good sign!!!!
