Really? Beth is linked at the hip to Immelt and his reputation is at a permanent low point. She would be a peer to Enron execs that were not charged.

Beth Comstock painted this picture of BS around Predix and Ge Digital yet she seems immune to criticism.

Wow, I only was "around" Predix and reading this book you learn employees werent even sure it was a product, there was all kinds of Corporate Marketing distorting the truth about this and numerous other company "offerings", that there was no cost control or rational funding plan for GED, that "Owen" was a bigger joke than we thought, etc. etc. And everyone kept a straight face at least for awhile....Power, Oil/Gas, Finance - yes there were miscues however each of these had a business, and were not "vaporware"

An interesting book. Fair read on Jeff Immelt - complex person and not a "pile on" with a balanced approach to his understandings and actions. Nevertheless, the report card is what it is...

No business really shines out in this book - finance is at times talked about positively as is aviation. Otherwise really not much perspective on portfolio moves - w author seeming to suggest comprehensive MA in multiple areas is risk free.

Having said that life would really be challenging professionally for anyone from the PowerDigital area. Trying workout internally too time consuming , maybe this is an optimal time to leave based of course on personal tax situations.

Looks like Jeff is working on a book and another one due from financial writer (called "Power Failure") ..so the subject is finally getting its due.

Just checked out some of the available chapters that can be found online ... some very heavy financial stuff went down in Power as described near the start of the book.

Expose on GE fall titled "Lights out". For fans of "the smartest guys in the room". Excerpts are available but official release later this week. Part on GED is surreal.
