Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

6 top executives just got bonuses totaling $9million

How aweful, JG with 5 other Macy’s top executives just received $9 million in bonuses. Disgusting that they are still receiving a bonus after laying off thousands of people, not to mention a declining business that hasnt made PL or LY in years! why a bonus? most of the hard working people in stores haven’t seen a raise or bonus in years!
INTEGRITY ALWAYS, YOU MATTER ...what a joke! How careless, what if theres another shutdown? Maybe that $9 million could have went toward keeping jobs past, present and future.

Difficult to digest, but if you scathed the layoffs be grateful. Even if some benefits were altered. Ask anyone who survived the 2008 Great Recession. For a certain time period, 401k’s we’re not matched, other bennies reduced as well. And, all retail stores were bare for a while; not just Macy’s. Our current situation is even more unpredictable. The perfect storm; 9/11 and /2008 Great Recession. How could anyone predict 9/11 occurrence? How could anyone predict and prepare for a pandemic?

Common practice to pay executive bonuses during tumultuous times. Contract bound to maintain continual guidance. Turnover now could mean many more lower paying jobs at risk. Hard to believe, but it’s for the good of “all remaining.” They r being paid for commitment to best forward business practices.

They can’t get rid of some of their real estate so they chose to reduce the payroll expense instead.

Macys inc.been laying hard working employees off for years now They clinging to COVID-19 as an excuse to continue eliminating departments. rest assure executives continue receiving millions of dollars in bonuses. I know I’ve seen tears throughout that company, I also seen emails on how then executives award themselves. It’s hard to swallow.

Money they didn’t have and borrowed. With jg in charge the investors aren’t going to get their money back . You sure didn’t see Jeff putting any money toward the company .
