OAPM New Job Description???

With the July announcement, are OAPMs really going to be acting as executives for annual Store Inventory, Shortage/Safety Audits and Asst. Store Buyer/Merchant Liaison?

Just imaging the shortage numbers before they combined Ops & AP. They appeared manageable to a certain degree. Then the combination occurred and the numbers shot through the roof. People were literally walking out of the store with stacks of clothing in their arms. There were days where I saw the value walking out in excess of $2,000 and that was only what I saw. What did I not see when I was doing all kinds of meetings, operations functions and other various things that came with the new position. Two full time positions were combined and NO work load reduction occurred.
IF they combine anymore duties with OAPM it will be futile to say that they are trying to prevent shortage. The old system as AP did not work and each year they tried the same thing - trying to accomplish something different with the same tactics yet achieving the same results (poor ones at that). It appears that everyone working for Macy's will be completing multiple position tasks and this will lead to stressful lives.
Polish up resumes, go back and learn a trade in demand and forge ahead.

OAPM is already in charge of Inventory, Safety, and Shortage at my store..... Store manager does that other stuff you mentioned.

Not this OAPM! When I was Just OPs, that was a full time job. Then they added AP. Now they want to add more? I’m not going to stress and k–l myself for any company! Macy’s has turned into quite the joke!
