Are EDPs (especially the group that started in 2018) a lost cause at this point?

2018 EDP here and I’ve heard nothing solid. Rumor mill says program is over and we may be placed in permanent positions based on our VPSMs assessments, but nothing is certain.
Our EDP told me they had a conference call about the program. This person will be starting something in Sept.
they got rid of a ton of assistant and MA's in Q1 2020... no reason for EDP's unfortunately. The EDP program is a joke now. ONe of the interns I befriended said her mentor didn't do anything with her and were literally twiddling their thumbs. no structure or anything .. she wanted to learn though!
My advice would be to work on your resume and start interviewing. Development isn’t what it used to be when I was an EDP a couple years ago. Be with a company who values you and values development, training, and growth. There are tons of companies out there just stay positive and focused!

I don’t know what’s going on but read the writing on the wall!!!! If they are going to belaying off these top executives, is there extra money for the bribes they give edp? You don’t see there’s nothing to develop into so work on your resume!!
