Half of us are back and we are forced to do several jobs each to make sure the store is running. Somebody else mentioned this in one of the threads and I couldn't agree more - this is intentional. They want to see if they can milk us like this permanently and then they'll just notify those who haven't been called back that their layoff is permanent.
Anybody who thinks this is a good place to work has been brainwashed or is from management.

Amazon runs rings around BN. You’d think after doing this as long as they have, BN would be better at Cust service, shipping times, employee relations. But, we all known they’re not.

Used Amazon even when I worked for BN. Could get the items quicker and cheaper than my discount!

Glad I found this site. I’m a furloughed employee that can’t get into Dayforce. I guess I’ve been let go from the company. Well - I’m celebrating with a first ever Amazon membership. Prices and delivery look good. I can go the library for the touch and feel experience of looking at new books. Barnes and Noble is obsolete to me. Good luck to everyone who just got kicked in the teeth by Barnes and Noble.
This reminds me of back in 2008 when during the last economic downturn they reduced hours and shifts and found they could handle the store with less. Looks like the same idea is used again.
