Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Mike Wirth Needs To Resign

Mike (with all of his direct reports) has created so much division within the workforce and it is no longer acceptable. The good ole boy network works for his best friends as well as Mark Nelson's . Just look at each ones set of direct reports. It shows they are tone-deaf. For everyone else, metrics are given to increase the number of women in their groups. I am ashamed of how Mike has turned this company into his personnel game board. We will be the source of a documentary on Netflix one day.

Mark Nelson. Shame on you for saying I am excited that everyone is angry. What the hell does that mean? You also are the MARC champion. You are the perfect person speaking out of both sides of your a–.

When leadership tears the employee base apart, that group of leadership needs to be let go.

MW is in beyond his depth. And it is painfully obvious. Almost as painful as reading WoodMacs glaring comments about his performance in their Tengiz update.

I’m ok with MW so far. There are other execs that need to go before him. How to tell if Jay Johnson is lying: if his mouth is moving. He showed up to our BU and said, “I dOn’T kNoW oF aNy pLaNs fOr a laYoFf.” Two weeks later: ESP was announced. Still up to his old tricks while rolling in millions. Where’s the accountability for Gorgon, Wheatstone, TCO, AMBU purchase, etc.?

such a stupid argument for cost cutting. Mike is the worst CEO that CVX has ever had. He has no vision for the company, my grandma could do the same. A leader is one has long term visions to grow not to cut. All the majors are doing the same, it just mater of time. Didn't CVX reorganize in 2015??? what happened since that they need to do more cuts.... there was no vision back then and none now. If a company wants to survive in a stagnated market, it needs to change the game, playing the same game yields nothing.

Let’s just remember that it’s Jay’s people who got us way out over our skiis when Gorgon, Wheatstone, TCO, and just about every GOM project all ran way over budget. Mike is bringing the cost discipline to get us out of this mess. Even if that means getting rid of some of the assets and people who aren’t working out for us anymore. Those are hard decisions but Upstream’s mess does not leave us choices on this.

They are just like Oxy. Mike is protecting his best friends salary so they can all go on their multi-million dollar vacations with their wives that have never worked a day in their life. Remember when Mike took his whole family in a private jet to the Olympics. Talking about privileged white people.

Mike and Mark - Does each of your wives clean their multiple homes or do you have a staff that cleans each of the houses. What about your girlfriends? Do they clean their own homes as well?

I think we all know the answer. By the way, what color are the people that clean your home and mow your yard. Have your child ever done any manual laber? Both of you exude white privilege and then talk about how excited you are the employees are angry. Damn, this is messed up bru.

Can you tell us how much the board increased your salary this year?

These LT members do not care for Chevron and care for themselves to amass wealth.

If Nelson goes, so does the East Bay MARC (sorry...a– lick$$er) spiky hair bully that is now praising the inclusion that he never showed when working in Latin America. If there is somebody that needs to go, start with him, an hypocrite and 100% useless leech.

You scared and insecure people should crawl back into your hole and hide until the storm is over. Mike is the best CEO we’ve had. Our costs are too high and we have bloated up with too much overhead/process, Mike’s the first one who would take this on and reverse it (instead of add more). We need to select people based on merit, and at the same time be sure we strongly consider talented people who represent the diversity of our country/world. Get over it. As far as inching toward bankruptcy, every company in our industry is losing money right now - and we are in the best shape of all of them including XOM because we’ve not been spending capital like it is free. He’s running a company in a brutal economy and an industry that has it’s own even greater challenges. Quit whining and buck up.

including his direct reports for keeping the whole organization in a panic mode for almost one year. A couple of LT members have become parrots on transformation and upstream evolution matters. The TCO project will cost additional $5 to $10 B to complete the project. The dividend will be paid through debt. Chevron is inching towards bankruptcy. Let us pray for well being of our company.
