"ENTERING" a downward spiral??? Big Blew has been in a downward spiral since 1980 when it paid Microsoft $430K for MS-DOS, but allowed Gates to license the OS to other companies. The curve has continued to tighten over the years, resulting in continuous waves of layoffs today.

The layoffs will continue until morale improves.

Same old same old with the old IBM... it is always about laying off to cut costs... it will never change.

The role of JW is to now make understand IBMers that layoffs are a good thing!!

I was RA'ed on 5/21, but one of my team member in India posted on his Facebook page that hiring and asked for resumes this week.

Wait, I thought H1B visas were only for jobs for which there are absolutely no qualified American citizens available.

But IBM just laid off tens of thousands of qualified Americans.

And there are 30 million Americans laid off or out of work.

I guess absolutely none of those Americans could do the job an H1B does, right?

This doesn't mean that IBM and other tech companies are lying about their need for H1Bs, right?

I'm sure they wouldn't do that.

Maybe they aren't hiring quantities of those demographics to your taste, but to be so absolute is a little melodramatic.
