Don’t support a brand that is not supporting you, your family or this country! HCL, BT, Infosys, TcS and Cognizant what do they all have in common? They all outsource work to India leaving many US based employee’s without jobs, retirement or legacy, you can’t treat people like this! The only real measure of time at Pepsi is now how many layoffs I’ve survived! I’ve already started planning for when the time comes, I’ll be ready. Don’t wait or get caught off guard make a change!

You don't think they will have to layoff anybody to help them with the 400 million they said they are spending on their new frontier do you?

All the hype about this lay-off being a tidal wave. It was barely a trickle. The reorg strategy is failing and the big wigs know it. This virus has left little room for the leadership to run to. They had no idea what they were doing when this started and they have no idea now.

Such BS. All the effort to market how compassionate the company is during COVID 19 so the public sees Pepsi in this angelic light. Reality is they treat their employees like c-ap. One day your a member of the Pepsi family, the next day your a no name who can’t even get an email responded to. I called to ask about retirement benefits posted by Pepsi on a web site, the person laughed and asked me if I believed everything I read. Disgusting!

I would not blame the off-shore employees. They are victims to. I trained several of my replacements for several years. I say several, because, as soon as I trained a group, they would immediately leave for better work. Not one stayed. When I was leaving, I was training a new batch. Ironically, they were also leaving. I told management, this was a sign of things to come.

I actually gave a ride to one of my replacements one time. He lived in an apartment, with 20 other folks. They had no furniture. Just a blanket. I couldn't believe this was happening. This isn't America. How did this happen??

I have nothing against the people that replaced me. They were good hard working individuals, that like us, were just trying to get by. I remember a very interesting conversation with off shore. They were very stressed, and explained that my team had too many responsibilities. They were doing work that they were not trained to do, or even thought was in their contracts.

I had to explain that the management team handling the off-shore didn't know what we did. I've never met them, and they never met me. My team was just a piece of paper to them. There is only so much that you can fit on a piece of paper. it was just about their bonuses.

Unfortunately, this scenario is being repeated at many corporations. I’ve had a horrible experience dealing with my banks, insurance, credit card companies among others. I've had to cut long standing relationships, because the trust was gone. Again, I have nothing against off-shore. They are stressed out, under paid, and over worked. They are doing their best, and I do see them as victims.

I really think this could have worked. If we all worked together, we all could have made a positive impact in everyone’s life’s. That was the old Pepsi. We took care of one another, no matter where your were from . We were a family once.

I was lucky and I left on my own last year. Still have at least 20 more years until retirement and wait for a package that might never come was not an option any more. Plus all the stress to know if there will be layoffs next week was taking a toll on me, There is a lot of uncertainty now, but be positive and all the best for those impacted. The Pepsi we all knew is gone. This is not the company we all knew years ago. There is always something better. STAY POSITIVE!

I am very sorry to hear this. This is a very bad time, but there is a much better life after Pepsi. Hopefully everyone gets a severance package. On top of that you should get unemployment, and maybe even COVID-19 unemployment benefits. Yes, time are hard, and they are going to be harder, but if you made it at a high stress environment like Pepsi, you can make it anywhere.

My daughter lost her job, because of Covid-19. On top of unemployment, she is getting COVID-19 benefits. This country is coming back, and many jobs are opening up. My daughter's employer called her yesterday. They are working on the paperwork to bring her back. She is getting a raise, and a promotion. Do you really want to work in en environment, where a job loss is always hanging over you.

Yes job losses happen everywhere, but when I worked at Pepsi we had job losses due to layoffs/restructuring/re-engineering/resizing... almost on a quarterly basis. I always know sooner or later it would be me, so I took the necessary precautions. When I was let go, it was a relief.

Good luck. Let's help one another.

@1hxh+15ppim4q The reason that its incompetent is that all the good people in IT have been laid off, or they left because they would be laid off. Don't come looking to BIS or whatever stupid name they call themselves now, it isn't the same team you had a few years ago, it's all HCL with very few exceptions. Pep hired the most useless incompetent outsourcing company to do our jobs. The few demoralized people left don't care because they know their time is coming too. Everything we told them not to do because it won't work they faithfully ran out and did. Next time you have a problem ask the tech if they are Pep employees or HCL. I'll bet huge money that its HCL. Put your anger on leadership where it's deserved, not on the people who did actually care and went out of their way to make you happy. I had to train my replacements who didn't even have the basic job skills to do the job they were hired for. Keep that in your mind next time you start yelling.

I was let go last year...Trust me, it's much better outside of PepsiCo!!
This needs to be posted on social media, the US citizens need to know that PepsiCo is laying off US citizens and outsourcing to other countries.

Are the rumored layoffs just IT or does it encompass all areas of the business? Anybody hearing/seeing anything?

@ Bill A - As someone that has supported the field and the hand helds I am so sorry to hear this! Once upon a time we took very good care of our colleagues on the frontline but that has degraded terribly over the years as we shift to an overseas model. However there are many of us still around that appreciate all that you do for us.

This is much needed. IT is the biggest group of clowns I’ve ever met. Last year when my route handheld went down thru couldn’t help me because everyone was on iPhone now and they didn’t know what to do.

This year when my iPhone kept crashing they told me they don’t troubleshoot iPhones. Get lost. We are better off without you. No it person has ever been there when I put product in the stores I can tell you that
