Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Belk isn’t Belk, remember that!

I can’t believe anyone would tolerate working for a company if it’s this bad, however I realize most people are either stuck, or for some other reason can’t get something better. Even Macy’s and JC Penney are not this bad, and they are also in poor financial shape. I’ve been retired for a while from Belk (since 2011), but you have to realize that Belk is not Belk, they name is there but the spirit, atmosphere, loyalty, and family first attitude are long gone. it would almost make more sense to change the name to something else, because Belk has always been associated with small towns and family and community, not with these new owners, they are horrific.

I agree. Was a wonderful company when older Belks ran the company. Employees were treated like family. Then the third generation came along. Long time employees had to apply to keep their jobs after District Offices were closed. Most lost their jobs. Then Management started replacing managers and executives from other Northern bankrupt retailers. Most long time employee lost their jobs. All the good knowledge and experience replaced with people who know nothing about Belk and what the Southern Belk customers wants. Ain’t worked out so well Lisa Harper.

That's just it . People are stuck. They're aren't any places to work here. Haven't been for years. Plus they lead you to believe that you're working for the greatest company and others are so much worse. It use to be great but definitely the Belk name needs to come down.It ain't Belk no more.
