Up to 345 employees at Marriott’s hotels in North Bethesda and Gaithersburg could be laid off, according to dislocation notices filed last week with the Maryland Department of Labor.

I worked for Marriott years ago. yes that was their corporate creed. I'm sure that now the conditions are such that they can't charge things back to property owners and would actually cost Marriott itself money to carry these people. I'm sure the layoffs are for the most self serving reasons. truth be told Marriott has always had layoffs on and off. Just this time its straight up honest and in the media. The company has always scheduled by daily demand and or weekly demand. slow week now hours. it's a layoff they just didn't announce it. now they are and looking for government help for their employees and their profits. who needs a hotel now anyway...???
more announced the end of august 2020 - so much for "Take care of your employees, they'll take care of your customers and the customers will keep coming back again and again."
