Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

I was laid off today

I received a call this morning from management. My role no longer exists. We're supposed to get follow up emails from HR at some point.

The June 30 date is probably for KRK, MVD, etc. For US employees it's July 5. It's based on the pay cycles.

Leave it Sabre to eff up even the layoff communications. So much contradictory information. My boss couldn't answer basic questions just laid the blame elsewhere.

This is why our products are shyte and documentation is non-existent. The leadership in this company are incompetent on all levels and no one knows what they are supposed to do or say.

Thank God I hope I never have to do a dpm again.

The date was 6/30. Who knows what it means if you get the axe today but don't leave until early July.

Not at all trying to be argumentative, but I do not remember that wording for the severance.... enhanced severance if laid off by July 4.
I would have expected higher sign ups if it had been clearly worded that way but all management would need to do is wait a few days in that case.

I was on furlough. My manager scheduled a meeting to explain that my position no longer exists. Also mentioned that the decision was not theirs. Inquired about health coverage.

If I recall correctly, the FAQs relating to the voluntary severance indicated that if you volunteered to sever your employment with Sabre but the offer was not accepted, you would be entitled to the enhanced severance in the event you were subsequently laid off on or before July 4th. If that's the case, I would expect Sabre would hold off on severing anyone that previously volunteered until after that date to save a few $.

2 of my team members were impacted today. Southlake based. Both were on furlough. Their last day at work is same as furlough end date.

I think we will all be back on as employees with full checks on July 6. Then last day of July will be our last day of employment and severance will start on on Aug.

Well, I’m confused. Took from Sean M’s broadcast that such announcements would take please sometime after the furlough ended. Am I to assume furloughed teammates will be notified in July, while non-furloughed are being told now? This was not clear to me.

Did they honor severance or change the limits?

Thank you. I'd rather not give specifics other than to say I'm US based.

I’m truly sorry to hear that. What team were you in and what location?
