Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Impacted today? Where are you based? Previously on furlough

In my case Mvd, previously on furlough. Having many recognitions in the last years. Any clue of the criteria applied?

My boss informed me today was my lay off. He is thrilled he gets to remain wfh. Why? Because he was remodeling his home and we could never get a hold of him unless we texted his phone. Good luck Sabre, you need it.

Director's usually get 2 weeks severance per year, so receiving only 1 week is unfortunate and I guess that means the policy has changed. Can anyone else confirm Managers/Directors/Principals only received 1 week/year?

No one is safe.
If you happen to survive this current round, it means exactly that: you survived this current round.
If read more into it than that, you do so at your own peril.
A great many of us that do survive this current round will only be kept long enough to train our replacements.

How can they not pay out accrued PTO?

I thought the change to cease paying accrued PTO only applied to those who quit not those who were laid off!

That really s—s if you have 5 weeks of PTO unused because you've been so busy keeping the company afloat all this time.

That's despicable.

You may or may not survive this round, but no one is “safe”.
This is a restructuring lay-off.
Afterwards there will be layoffs from time to time just as before.

I was laid off around 4 hours ago. The people I know were laid off around the same time. I hope that if you haven't received a call by now that means you're safe.

I'm in the US furloughed and still waiting. This is not a nice way to treat an employee with 20+ years :(

Southlake checking in. I'm a furloughed Director in Travel Solutions and was laid off today. My termination date is in early July when furlough would be ending, but benefits will be maintained through July 31. They're offering 1 week severance per full year worked, contingent on returning my laptop and badge. They're not paying out for accrued PTO. They said to take badge, laptop, and accessories to UPS store and give a special Sabre account # and the store will pack and ship it.

I'm told that 8 people on my team were also impacted, though I was not involved in the decision or in notifying them. Of those, 5 were on furlough and 3 were not.

I am aware of people in us been impacted. Some of them with more of 20 years in Sabre, so if you were not called today you may be lucky. I dont understand the way this was decided

I'm based in Southlake and on furlough and haven't heard anything - yet. Two friends told me they are returning to the office. I have not heard of any US based being laid off - maybe they have not started laying off US yet?
