Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Things have been the same for decades

The "Be happy you have a job" attitude was around when I first went to work for the company over 25 years ago. It never changed during my tenure. I finally left when it was clear they were not interested in doing anything about a rapidly declining employee morale in free fall. Any hope of any kind of managerial support is certainly gone now that the company is in the tank, unless by some miracle there is a purge of management and new talent is recruited that knows what it means to take care of their people.

All the good managers are gone those left are useless. They never step foot into operations and just send emails all day tellling you what is wrong.

True, true. I did have some great CSMs, Senior CSMs, AMs, and RVPs who supported and mentored me when I first started out. I was blessed to work with them for the majority of my 20+ year career. Things started going south when Ford sold us and the new owners tied the hands of my chain of command. I was fortunate to retire just prior to the great management purge of 2016/2017. I can't imagine the present work environment with the current management.

I agree but there was a handful of AM's, GM's and RVP's who did care about your development and did spend the time to coach and mentor you. Now they are gone and its pretty bleak here.
