Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Layoffs needed, a view from the ground level

Im suprised at how many staff they have taken on recently without any meaningful work being done! The new Schwab Slices are terrible, digital deccelerator indeed... the website is so outdated and sloppy its embarrasing! Layoff ineffective orgs, hire professionals and end the amateur hour at Schwab!

You people do understand that fractional shares is a challenging concept right? The actual exchanges only deal with whole number shares, or actually lots. We, the broker, that offers fractional shares, or any shares for trading for that matter, do our own proprietary books and record keeping. This means we track the actual fractional shares allocated to individual clients, out of a lot of say 2000 shares. This some major book keeping that we do in a replicated Mongo database, which is then synchronized with Oracle 12g and multiple clusters of MS SQL Server, which all gets replicated to native public cloud databases running on AWS and GCP. This then trickles down to Kafka for consolidation.

I architected and developed the Slices features at Schwab. You nay sayers are obviously Facebook, Apple, and Google investors. FANG without Netflix.

To the previous poster, have a quick search online and see what real users are saying about Schwab Slices - “hokey, dumb, not intuitive”

Question is, why isnt fractional sharing integrated into a seamless trading feature. Its abysmally difficult to use (did developers design this?!?) with a hand full of bugs (seems like no one does quality check before they go public)

To the poster that criticized Schwab's new slices feature: You probably invest in Facebook, Apple, and Google, but certainly not Netflix. If you are this type of investor, the slices feature can really serve you, because you can purchase Facebook, Apple, and Google as a single unit. You're basically a FANG investor, without Netflix. Facebook, Apple, Google. That's you. Let that sink in.

Oh and his rant on how he’s not racist is laughable. Look at the executive team. Not one POC. All white men/women. What a joke. Diversity my a–.

Wrong! We need MORE project managers and scrum masters. Agile? Kanban? Like hell those are practiced. Let’s just keep up those JIRA backlogs and have more Scrum meetings. Story pointing. Grooming sessions. Red tape red tape red tape.

The schwab platform should be taken out back and shot so far out of its misery. Think or Swim is the future. But that would mean admitting defeat and little man Walt won’t allow that.
