So far a lot of the cuts have been due to consultants coming in and cutting rank and file employees.
Maybe the company will realize that if you have a lot of directors/VPs/SVPs who need consultants to tell them what is working or not working in their department, those senior employees are the ones you need to replace...
The sad truth is independent of the merger and Covid epidemic the network television business has changed a lot over the past few years. ViacomCBS is still not one of the"big boys" of network television and will keep trying to do more with less. Even if the merger didn't happen and Moonves had stayed on, many of these "adjustments" would still have been inevitable.
I would expect more trimming for rest of the year as they reassess where they stand and how well they compete in the rapidly evolving world of network television, cord cutting, streaming wars, etc.
ViacomCBS has a system. The most horribly narcissistic animals are the ones who magically arent targeted for layoffs.
Better set aside lots of cash for settlements because the wave is F—ING COMING
ViacomCBS ammended/added more layoffs to the NY WARN notice today.

There will continue to be layoffs at the end of every month.
I heard that they are looking to lay off all security guards at Paramount. They will be encouraging able bodied employees under the age of 40 to patrol the grounds for 15 minutes every other hour in shifts in place of security. Those wishing to carry a stapler for protection may do so.
Layoffs will end when viacbs becomes a relevant 21st century media company.........so never
Guys this is the perfect time for them , to lay you off...things change ...accept it. I was laid off in this batch ...
Truth.
In the end you are a vin number.
Once your gone its like you dont exist.
I mean layoffs are continuing until September. Check the WARN notices. You aren't over any humps. This is your company and this is how they think of their employees. Think about that next time you casually spot an intriguing job posting on LinkedIn. Maybe it's time to apply to work for companies who don't treat you all like sh–
VIACOMCBS DOES NOT GIVE A F— ABOUT ANY OF YOU. VP, SVP, EA, IT DOES NOT MATTER. YOU HAVE NO VALUE TO THEM.
