I never received any communication or information on how to return my 2 computers. Is there somewhere that they can be sent to? (I left IBM 3 years ago)

Yeah, other people's laptops could be contaminated with the virus.
Yes . Agreed. Why they need those laptops anyway.
My request to IBM to let keep the laptop for all those employees who got layoffs.
Can you vote for it .
Your manager should have received your off boarding work day task, in there they need to confirm your ship to address and how many boxes to ship. After they confirm that task, offboarding team will be working your task through so it maybe delayed if you have gone through above but not received box tracking info.
Partial asset return info should be the employee info pdf.
Overal though contact your manager for any questions
I would not say anything and keep them until they ask for them. Also, you may be past any statute of limitations for any action from them.
If you are going to use them, I'd reformat them and re-install a new operating system. Else the IBM spyware is still spying on you.
After three years IBM has probably written down the value of those machines to zero. I still have a Thinkpad that IBM forgot about when it issued my first Mac years ago. I reformatted it, installed Linux, and use it for self-education (Linux, Rust, Python...).
So my recommendation is to use them personally if you want (home media server?) of dispose of them if you don't. Even if IBM does wake up and ask for them, the asset value is minimal for equipment that old.
So they never fixed the glitch... ?!?!?
I was RAed two years ago and they still send me my paychecks.
Yes, we had a guy at our location who actually went to jail for not returning his.
As others said, you are probably forgotten. But we all know IBM. Maybe some day in a few years, someone will check something and send you a bill. They did that to me many months later after realizing they overpaid me by like 30 bucks from my separation due to RA. Yes, really happened.
They have forgotten you by now.
Ahhhhh...... No.
3 years? Wow, that gives you an idea on how IBM manages its business! They have no clue whatsoever... same thing about the current layoffs, they don’t even understand they are laying off people that have critical skills because they blindly lay-off people based on their utilization.
JW had a company wide all hands call this morning... he discussed the layoffs and he was pretty clear that layoffs are (obviously) due to the total complete lack of growth in IBM (revenues shrinking for years, thanks a Ginni) and that layoffs will continue until significant growth returns.
