Our store was told that we are not allowed to fill any dept manager or academy positions. Store mgr said that home office has given the direction. Anyone hearing anything?

They told our store to not fill any DM positions since we are converting to GWP soon and it makes no sense since those people most likely wouldn't get first dibs on team lead positions.
I work in market 432. We have filled 3 DM position in the past 2 weeks.
Those positions are going away with another title. It will be a Target floor-mat.
Yes, soon current DMs will be sent to leadership evaluations (virtual) for those interested in staying in hourly supervisor roles. Severance is unlikely at this level, but haven't heard anything concrete on those displaced.
Two months ago? Good grief! That place is a nightmare!
GWP. This is the perfect opportunity for the company to "move forward". The Walmart we knew two months ago will never return.
