Network Analysts are as safe as sales. 1 can't survive without the other, future is software solutions and i.t. Analysts are needed more then ever.

Do the layoffs include reg network techs NOT part of the ninja team?

Xerox has invested in XBS analysts and they are developing a ninja team to support software solutions. This is one of the bright spots for XBS departments and direction of it's future. XWC,XWS, Docushare Flex, XMPie are a few.

Sales support analysts have been the first to go. They've been on the axe for years. Our local ones were transferred to HCL. HCL did not have insurance for them to do onsite visits. We have to fly in non-HCL analysts to do production installs.

Many customers do not allow remote ins: banks, credit card companies, military contractors, health care providers/support will not let Guatemala on their network. DHCP isn't even running on their networks: You need someone there to physically type in network settings.

Sales Support analysts..laughable. They are a huge factor in the sale and customer facing. That won't go away. Maybe a remote support team as in your call centers. Call centers use to have value when sales would bring customer in to office for a tour and would say "here is our local dispatch" that will take your call. They will be empty rooms soon. Now you have more options, you can get support online, via an app, chat or phone (from overseas). I know 3rd level support is mostly hcl now, the turnaround time is horrible.

The goal is to outsource everything possible, and the rest will be replaced by RPA. Anyone in any kind of non-important job function / admin / support etc - start looking for a new job because the COVID economy will expedite this - Xerox will not be able to survive long with their current business model.

I believe they may be talking about sales Support Analysts. These are the positions that help configure equipment and ensure they will print the customers work correctly. They used to support everything from Office MFP's all the way up to iGen. The Office MFP's are now supported by the Remote/Ready install Team in Guatemala. When a customer receives their MFP, they call a 1-800 number and the equipment is remotely configured by that team. 25% of the Sales Support Analysts were transferred (and subsequently let go) a year ago. One of the managers of those analysts that go transferred is still at HCL, and their job now is to transfer the remaining Sales Support Analysts functions to the "Right Shore". Eventually ALL Sales Support Analyst work will come from there.

A Business Analyst in Europe is the main support for the Service Director. He usually does Service P&L outlooks. He does some financial reporting for Service. He would do Red site analysis, Service performance analysis. He will participate in QBR's. Sometimes even prepare presentations for the Service Director.

What is defined as a Business analyst? What are their main job duties?

Post is an example of something that might have truth to the poster, but they clearly don’t have a view of the business outside of their org. Xerox has thousands of analyst titles, including HR, IT, Finance, etc. post needs to be more specific or will be dismissed.

It is all the Business Analyst's. (Most are in Service). In Europe the jobs have moved to HCL. i.e Romania. In fact most Service Back-office are being transferred to HCL.

So who will do the work? We still need people to handle escalations and perform installs. There are customers who pay for on site support. I know these are just rhetorical questions.
