Macy’s leadership actually telling stores to barricade store fire exits At closing due to break ins/looters is beyond reprehensible. They better pray nothing happens with a fire fighter getting trapped in one of their buildings.

We're instructed to move the stuff when we have a regional visit or a deep dive.
MTM here... Nothing new.... Not protocol but happens on a constant basis. No place to put merchandise. Sales floor full. Stockrooms jammed packed with no space to walk - even neglecting the 18" needed for water sprinklers. Where else are we supposed to put it? Everyone knows. Mannequins and hardware is even in our fire escapes and staircases.
The fire exits are NOT being blocked the regular glass door entrances/exits are the only ones getting barricaded someone obviously got out of the wrong side of their bed
The poster probably meant store leadership. I know two store managers who would in fact direct their team to do this, sadly.
We have not been instructed to barracade fire exits...only glass door entrances. (((rolleyes)))
Fake news
This is the kind of colleague we don't need.
Drama and lies
No it absolutely is NOT protocol to block fire exits. Just stop.
- no one would be left in the building. You id–t.
Standard protocol is to block fire exits? So if an event happens in your building and people get trapped and go to exit through a blocked exit?? Hmm, I bet the Fire Marshall would love that protocol.
That’s actually standard protocol.
